The Gen Y Factor - As appear in The EDGE Malaysia

“The Gen Y are an opportunity for businesses to put ourselves ahead in the game, provided we can navigate the Gen Y’s unique abilities, which can sometimes also be their biggest flaws. Figuring out how to make the most of their potential – now, that will be a leader’s challenge.”

Dato’ Johan Raslan Executive Chairman, PriceWaterhouseCoopers

Generation Y are the fastest growing segment in Malaysia’s work- force, occupying almost two third of our workforce*. However, Gen Y’s approach to employment can make them a challenge for managers and executives to attract, retain, motivate, and develop. Unlike the generations that have gone before them, Gen Y has been pampered, nurtured and programmed with a slew of activities since they were toddlers, meaning they are both high-performance and high- maintenance. Gen Y‘s emergence in the workforce is a huge strategic opportunity for an employer to create short - term gains as well as position themselves for a long - term competitive advantage if they know how to employ, manage and harness their potential.

What Previous Participants said..

I am a doctor and I have many colleagues, staff and relatives in the Gen Y age group. This has definitely helped me under- stand better about what they want and their expectations instead of what I expect from them! It may make me feel younger do well when I’m able to connect with them and help them together towards a common good and dream and together have fun.

About Connecting Dors

“You can't connect the dots looking forward you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your hear, even when it leads you off the well worn path."

Have you attended a training that is :

       1. Boring
       2. Not inspired by what the trainer say
       3. Learn the concept but do not apply it
       4. Forgot about everything 2 days after the training

We all have been there before. And this is why we have founded our company. We don't just merely train others but our goal is to inspire and for them to gain a sense of empowerment to make positive changes, applying what they learn in the class. It’s all about connecting dots: those connection points of intelligence, wisdom, desire and ability that are innate to people. It's about having the intuition not only to know that they exist but also to know what to do with them to continuously cultivate innovation and initiative, whether it's for their organisation or for their self-improvement.

We have developed our very own 3E training methodology that deliver an impact in what we train and bring sustainable results.

Empowerment
We strongly believe that for anyone to be able to change their behavior or to develop a new skill, he/she needs to feel that they are empowered to do so. Our training delivery is design with human psychology elements in order for people to be inspired and have the willingness to adopt new ideas and make internal changes.

Education
We do not use standard training material, as we believe each client is different. That is why we request our client to give us some time to prepare the material before the actual training to be conducted, so that research can be done. We insist that we get the chance to get to know the client business and challenges beforehand. We continuously update our material based on the current environment, the changes in social, technology, psychology and business in order for the participants to learn and apply relevant skill and knowledge to the current environment. We used active learning, action learning and accelerated learning in order for the participant to truly understand the method and most importantly to be able to apply to the work environment and industry.

Enjoyment
We do not believe that learning has to be boring. To truly learn something, one has to enjoy the process. That is why people learn most on their hobby or things they love to do. Our training is designed for enjoyment and entertainment but not necessary for the sake of it, but to engage the participants and let them discover their true potential.
